How do I get paid through Dr.Bill?
You get paid directly through the Ministry of Health. You can set up direct deposit through the Dr.Bill platform so that payment goes directly to your bank account.
How does the $150 billing credit work?
The $150 credit is the perfect way to try Dr.Bill risk-free!
If you are a new client and you sign up for our Comprehensive Plan, you will automatically receive a $150 credit on your Dr.Bill account. This credit covers approximately your first $7,500 in billings on the Comprehensive Plan. There is no credit card required until your billing credit runs out.
Can I get a discount on Dr.Bill as an RBC client?
Yes! RBC clients are eligible for exclusive savings on Dr.Bill of 23-48% depending on the plan type you choose and your relationship with RBC. We’ll reach out once you’ve signed up with Dr.Bill to confirm and apply your savings. If you’re not already an RBC client, but you choose to become one after signing up for Dr.Bill, let us know and we’ll apply preferential pricing to your Dr.Bill account at that time.
What specialties does Dr.Bill serve?
Dr.Bill currently serves more than 60 specialties and subspecialties.
Are there any additional fees beyond the plan price?
Essentials Plan: No additional fees apply. Because the Essentials Plan is a software-only plan, you always have the option to engage our billing agent team at a rate of $50/hour for tasks like fixing and resubmitting rejected claims, payment reconciliation and appeals or remittance advisory inquiries.
Comprehensive & Concierge Plans: No additional fees apply. unless you would like to use Dr.Bill to bill privately/specialty insured patients, in which case there is a $15 admin fee for each claim/service code. (E.G. Refugees, Federal Inmates, Blue Cross, RCMP, DND.)
What are your prices for OHIP, MSP and AHCIP shadow billing?
In Ontario:
Essentials: 0.25% of submitted claims per billing cycle.
Comprehensive: 1.95% of submitted claims per billing cycle.
In BC and Alberta:
Essentials: $50/month flat rate
Comprehensive: $100/month flat rate
If you are signing up for shadow billing, simply sign up for either the Essentials or Comprehensive Plan and send us an email to let us know.
What if some of my billing is fee-for-service and some is shadow billing on an alternative payment plan?
No problem! Simply sign up for the plan of your choice and send us an email so we can configure your Dr.Bill account to your needs.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Of course! Change or cancel your plan anytime by contacting our support team. Keep in mind that you’re only charged when you bill through our platform, so if you’re taking a break or simply don’t need to use Dr.Bill right now - you can keep your account active at no cost and return when you need it.
Can Nurse Practitioners, Midwives and Optometrists use Dr.Bill?
Yes! More than 1,000 NPs, midwives and optometrists use Dr.Bill. Simply choose the plan that suits your needs.
